TomCat - Please don't think me critical but the statement that you carry your tools in a fork bag just begs to be responded to. I have seen inumerable front wheel fenders with little dents in the top where upon the front wheel hitting a large bump of some sort, slams up and against the toolbag thereupon providing one well appointed fender dent. I myself use a toolbag on the front forks but for lightweight items only. My rule of thumb is that if it won't bend/compress, don't put it in there.
